Starting from the fourth quarter, China's civil aviation supervisory authorities will take bold measures on airline companies and airports which fail to meet security standards after rectification and reform, ordering grounding of aircraft and closing of airport.
In serious cases such airline companies and airports will be disclosed through the media for public supervision.
The General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) revealed yesterday that from Jan. through Aug., China's civil aviation industry has recorded 1.9 million flight hours and 1.08 million flights.
Flight incident rate per 10,000 hours in air transport was 0.37, decreasing by a margin of 0.05 year on year, and the security level remains stable in general.
The successive major flight accidents that took place in the world recently, however, have aroused close attention of China's civil aviation supervisory authorities. Therefore, they will aggressively organize key and special supervisory programs targeting airline companies and airports.
