An international ceramics expo is expected to be held in Jingdezhen City in east China's Jiangxi Province in October, the organizers announced Tuesday.
The second Jingdezhen International Ceramics Expo is organized jointly by China Federation of Light Industries, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Jiangxi Provincial Government and the Ministry of Commerce.
The event was first launched last year in Jingdezhen, the most famous Chinese porcelain-making center with a recorded history of more than 1,600 years in making artistically delicate ceramic pieces with sophisticated ceramic-making technologies.
Last year, Jingdezhen marked the millennium of its changing the name ""Changnan" to "Jingde" in line with to a royal decree from the then emperor in the imperial Song Dynasty (960-1279), a divine honor of granting a pioneering status to the ceramic town.
The expo, launched as part of 2004 grand millennium celebration, will be held again from October 12 to 18 this year.
Though organizers did not release specific details for the expo but business activities relating to the ceramic industry, forums on ceramics clay and engineering, and top-notch ceramic exhibitions ware are likely to be held or shown.
