Chinese scientists have launched a large-scale research project on the coral ecology of the Xisha Islands in the South China Sea.
Through updating the basic data of the coral ecology on the Xisha Islands, the scientists will also provide facts for the protection of coral reefs and the ecological environment.
The research will also cover coral fishes and algae.
