Lenovo launches First 13.1-inch Wide-screen PC

Lenovo's Tianyi Y200, the world's first 13.1-inch wide-screen collaborative PC, made its debut in Beijing on Nov. 10. Combining a slim design with a wide screen, it signifies Lenovo's entry of the home PC into the wide-screen collaborative era.

As a member of the Olympic partner program, as well as a supplier of computer equipment and services to the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, Lenovo showcased its Olympic strategy by inviting Sun Tiantian and Li Ting, women’s tennis double champions in the Athens Olympics, to publicize the product.

"The release of the Y200 has established a benchmark for the future development of home PCs. It also symbolizes a new stage in Lenovo's Olympic strategy," said Lu Yan, vice president of Lenovo Group.

Tianyi Y200 integrates popular broadband applications like video communication, interactive video applications and online payments with collaborative applications among various digital home appliances. The unique 13.1-inch LCD gives a better picture than the existing 12-inch PCs; it is slimmer and lighter than the ordinary 14-inch PCs with a travel weight of only two kilograms and a battery supporting over four hours of working time.

The Olympic spirit delivered by the champions caters to the Olympic-level quality that Lenovo is aiming at.

Tianyi Y200 offers users access to an integrated suite of broadband resources including entertainment, a search engine and other information services, giving them the most convenient and stylish one-stop broadband application experience.

The Y200 boasts versatility and sophistication in collaborative applications. Connecting through the "Media Link" set up box, users can easily transmit audio and visual data from their computer to the television or stereo in their living room. More importantly, with broadband connectivity, users can now access an enlarged scope of audio and visual resources more conveniently than ever.

The Y200 comes in four configurations, and the prices range from 10,499 to 13,699 yuan (US$1,269 to 1,655) .
