A senior official with China's Information Ministry has announced video games will be included in a list of funded IT development projects to attract more investment in the field.
The official said this at the 2004 Cyber Games Conference.
The official indicated the Information Ministry hopes the development fund could encourage IT professionals to develop more high quality cyber games.
Earlier, 90 experts carried out an assessment on key development projects in the IT field in 2004. 19 projects, including cyber games, were included in the final list.
