Apple Computer has released the latest version of their digital music player, the iPod.
The fourth generation iPod is slightly smaller, and is US$100 cheaper than before.
This year Apple has been the target of a publicity campaign and lawsuit from users complaining about poor quality batteries that run out too soon. Now the company says the latest iPod has 50 percent longer battery life.
The iPod has become a consumer icon in the US and Europe, and is now becoming a more common sight in China, where small MP3 players are nearly ubiquitous among educated young people.
