Express train system completed in capital airport
Adjust font size:

Beijing's first ever automatic train designed to serve the upcoming new wing of its Capital International Airport had a trial run on Tuesday.

The express rail device shuttles passengers from one terminal to another.

Three stops are arranged along the passenger delivery line: Terminal 3A, Terminal 3B and Terminal 3C. The entire rail line is about 5 kilometers long.

Trains, with four air-conditioned carriages each, service the line every five minutes. Each train can hold a maximum of 4,100 passengers.

The airport train will formally begin operating on February 29, 2008, in conjunction with the opening of the capital airport's new passenger terminal.
