102008, the first zip code for the Olympic Games in history, was put into use in Beijing on Wednesday.
Xu Xueming, deputy general manager of Beijing Post Company, said the special zip code would help letters for Olympic venues arrive in a safe, fast and smooth way.
The zip code would be in use from August 1, 2007 to September 30, 2008, according to Xu.
Zip codes in Beijing starts with the digit of 1, while 2008 refers to the year of 2008 when the Beijing Olympic Games will be held.
