Iraqi Interior Minister Falah al-Naqib told a press conference in Bagdad Friday that anti-US militants will launch more attacks in the coming days and the interim government has an emergency plan to deal with the attacks.
Early news reports said that a martial law will be imposed to control "terrorists acts". A US-led coalition official said the interim government can instead restrict public movement and impose a curfew.
Anti-US militants unleashed a wave of apparently coordinated attacks across Iraq on Thursday, leaving at least 89 people dead just six days from the power transfer on June 30.
