Chinese and Japanese diplomats met in Beijing Sunday to exchange views on the upcoming second round of six-party talks on the Korean nuclear issue and bilateral relations.
Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing and Japanese Senior Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Aisawa Ichiro discussed such questions during their meeting in Chinese Foreign Ministry.
The Japanese government strictly abides by the principles of the Japan-China joint statement and sticks to the one-China policy, Aisawa said.
Aisawa was here to attend a similar on Sino-Japanese economic ties in the 21st century.
The second round of six-party talks, involving China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the United States, the Republic of Korea, Russia and Japan, was set to begin on Feb. 25.
