Pakistan-China relations will continue to acquire greater depth and content, "as our countries look forward to being partners for peace and security in the 21st Century," Prime Minister Mir Zafarulah Khan Jamali said on Wednesday.
Jamali told reporters at the airport after coming back from a three-day official visit to China.
Describing his visit as highly successful, Jamali said he had a detailed review of bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues with Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao.
"It was a great honor for me to be the first foreign head of government to meet the new Chinese leadership. This shows the importance China attaches to its relations with Pakistan," Jamali said.
The prime minister said that during his talks with the Chinese leaders, the two sides agreed to further enhance political, economic, commercial, technical and cultural cooperation.
Jamali said that the Chinese leadership assured that it would encourage concrete measures to increase trade between Pakistan and China.
"I invited Chinese companies to invest in Pakistan, particularly in the manufacturing sector, taking advantage of the great reservoir of friendship between the peoples of the two countries," he said.
