Consultations with China on fighting terrorism have been "constructive", said Cofer Black, counter-terrorism coordinator of the United States State Department, in Beijing Wednesday.
He said he and his Chinese counterpart held the third session of consultations on the war against terrorism.
He said the two nations were engaged closely in the war against terrorism, and the results have been very "constructive".
Black said it was very important to coordinate with nations on how to fight terrorism and China had certainly taken active steps with the international community.
Cooperation between China and its close partners in countering terrorism could be very productive, he said, adding the United States was certainly very appreciative of China's assistance.
Black said the two sides discussed the need to stop financial links for terrorists, noting that this was an issue attracting increasing concern.
Appreciating China's role in Afghanistan's reconstruction, he said it was important for all to fight together and China had a key role to play.
The coordinator said both sides had agreed to share information.
Both sides also discussed the security of the 2008 Olympic Games, Black said, stating the United States had always been anxious to support the security systems and was looking forward very much to working with the Chinese.
He said the two sides did not touch upon the Iraq issue or the Korean nuclear issue, as they concentrated their talks on global counter-terrorism.
Black arrived in Beijing Tuesday and is scheduled to leave later Wednesday.
