As China's lunar new year, or Spring Festival, draws near, a reception was held in Beijing Wednesday evening in honor of diplomatic envoys from Latin American countries to China.
The event was co-hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the China-Latin America Friendship Association.
Addressing the reception, CPAFFC President Chen Haosu said the past year had seen the mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese people and Latin American people enhanced and their cooperation in politics, economy and culture strengthened.
Chen expressed belief that with concerted efforts from China and Latin America, their friendship in 2003 will be even more fruitful.
