At the invitation of Chinese President Jiang Zemin, President Jorge Luis Batlle Ibanez of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay will pay a state visit to China from Oct. 13 to 18.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue made the announcement in Beijing Tuesday at a regular press conference.
