Han Zhubin, procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, met in Beijing on Wednesday with British Attorney-General Lord Goldsmith QC and his party.
Han said in recent years, the procuratorial authorities of the two countries had exchanged frequent visits, and signed a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation, which lifted bilateral cooperation to a higher level.
China's procuratorate department had always valued exchanges and cooperation with its counterparts in other countries, he said, noting that China could learn from other countries' experience, including Britain, in promoting the rule of law.
Goldsmith said he and the British procuratorial body were keen on exchanges and cooperation with Chinese colleagues, adding such cooperation would improve ties between China and Britain at large.
