President of United Nations General Assembly Srgjan Kerim is to pay an official visit to China from Aug. 26-28 at the invitation of Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu made the announcement in Beijing on Monday.
Kerim was elected in May as president of the 62nd session of the UN General Assembly.
Jiang announced on Tuesday that German Chancellor Angela Merkel will pay a visit China from Aug. 26 to 29.
This is Merkel's second China tour since she took the post of German chancellor.
