Pakistan, India to Resume Peace Talks in November
Adjust font size:

As a follow-up to a decision taken by Pakistani and Indian leaders in Havana last month, the peace talks between the two countries will resume in mid-November, Tuesday's DAWN newspaper reported.

Pakistani and Indian foreign secretaries will meet in mid-November in New Delhi to resume peace dialogues that were stalled after July's Mumbai train blasts, Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri said on Monday, according to DAWN.

Kasuri didn't give specific dates for the resumption of the talks while talking to reporters Monday at the Foreign Ministry.

In a joint statement after their Havana meeting on Sept. 16, Pakistani President Musharraf and Indian Prime Minister Singh had directed their foreign secretaries to resume the dialogue, which was earlier called off by India after the Mumbai train bombings that killed at least 180 people and New Delhi blamed on "Pakistani hands."
