Adjust font size:

South Korea is looking forward to boosting an all-around cooperation with China to contribute to the regional peace and prosperity, said Lim Chae-jung, speaker of the National Assembly, Thursday.

Lim made the remarks when meeting with Liu Yunshan, a member of both the Central Committee Political Bureau and the Central Committee Secretariat of the Communist Party of China (CPC), in Seoul.

The bilateral ties between South Korea and China have seen a fast development in the fields of politics, economy, society and culture, Lim said.

South Korea is satisfied with the fast-developing relations with China and is willing to maintain the momentum, Lim said.

The leaders of China and South Korea have kept an active exchange of visit and greatly boosted the mutual trust during the past several years, Liu said.

China and South Korea are widening exchanges and cooperation in economy, culture, education, technology and environment, said Liu, adding that the two neighbors carried out successful cooperation over international and regional affairs.

China will join efforts with South Korea to push forward the bilateral ties to contribute to the peace, development and cooperation in the region.

During the meeting, Liu also conveyed greetings by Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, and Jia Qinglin, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, to Lim.

Liu, invited by South Korea's ruling Woori Party and the opposition Grand National Party, is leading a CPC delegation here on a friendship visit.

On Thursday, he met separately with leaders of both Woori and the Grand National Party and visited the Joongang Daily and the Korean Broadcast Station.

The CPC delegation is scheduled to attend the 4th International Conference of Asian Political Parties set to open on Friday.
