Mongolia's parliament Friday night voted to accept the resignation of the government, but the Mongolian Democratic Party did not attend the voting.
More than half cabinet ministers from Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) resigned January 11, which according to Mongolia's laws means the government have resigned.
The MPRP said the move was sparked by a slowdown in economic growth and rising inflation since Prime Minister Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj was elected in 2004.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party refused to vote, saying that the MPRP had made the wrong decision and there is no enough ground to make such an action.
After Mongolia's parliament election in 2004, a coalition government was formed by MPRP and the "Motherland democracy coalition".
