Proposals Put Forward on Developing Ties with Madagascar

Visiting Vice Premier Huang Ju puts forward four-point proposals during talks with Madagascar Prime Minister Jacques Sylla Monday on enhancing bilateral relations and advancing mutually beneficial cooperation.

First of all, Huang said that both countries should maintain the momentum of high-level visits of state leaders and continue political consultation for the promotion of mutual trust and understanding.

Secondly, greater efforts should be made to expand economic cooperation, especially in the field of investment, infrastructure, and agriculture. Government agencies in both countries should provide convenience and safeguards for the orderly growth of two-way trade, he said.

The third proposal focused on cooperation on human resources exploration, and the fourth one on strengthening cooperation in cultural, educational, health, tourism and sports fields.

Huang said that China has decided to list Madagascar as one of the new destinations for Chinese citizens on private expenses.

Sylla agreed with Huang on the four-point proposals, noting that Madagascar is ready to cooperate with China on international matters, as well as on trade and economic development.

Both leaders said they are satisfied with the smooth development of bilateral relations in all fields. Sylla reiterated that his country will continue to adhere to the one-China policy, which Huang said China highly appreciates.
