US Ambassador to Belgrade Michael C. Polt confirmed Monday that the United States is cooperating with Serbia to hunt top war crime fugitive Ratko Mladic, the B92 Radio reported.
Both Serbian President Boris Tadic and Premier Vojislav Kostunica have been cooperating actively with the United States, Polt told Radio B92.
Both Tadic and Kostunica have assured the United States that they are now fully committed to find, arrest and transfer Mladic, he said.
Mladic, former Bosnian Serb military commander, is indicted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia for alleged genocide during the 1992-1995 Bosnian war.
Mladic tops the list of war criminals along with Radovan Karadzic, former Bosnian Serb leader. The two has been at large for several years.
