The "Golden Tax" computerized tax network helped cut the number of falsifying value-added invoices from 68 cases in the first half of 2001 to just five in the second, sources with the State Administration of Taxation said Sunday.
Implemented on July 1, 2001, the "Golden Tax" project is a computerized information network initiated by the administration, covering all kinds of taxes and connecting up all taxation departments.
Sources with the administration said hand-written large-denomination invoices have been prohibited and the administration is able to supervise local revenue departments directly.
