476 failed to file income tax declarations
Adjust font size:

The Beijing Local Taxation Bureau fined 476 people a total of 95,300 yuan (about 12,710 U.S. dollars) for failing to follow stipulated procedures to declare their individual income tax obligations, said an official of the bureau on Thursday.

Under China's new tax law, people with annual incomes exceeding 120,000 yuan must file tax declarations within the first three months after the end of a tax year, or within the period from Jan. 1 - March 31.

Those who fail to file within the stipulated period or try to conceal their real incomes will be fined in line with the law, said the official.

This year, a total of 255,000 people declared individual income tax obligations.

The Beijing Local Taxation Bureau has recorded the tax payments and incomes of 13 million residents in the municipality. It will set up an "integrity data base" on these individuals in reference to their personal integrity appraisal, the official said.
