To improve administrative efficiency, the Shenzhen Municipal Government started streamlining consultative and coordinating organs and temporary agencies that had been established since 1995, the latest government gazette said Wednesday.
So far, a total of 145 consultative and coordinating organs and temporary agencies had been closed, while 80 others would be retained, the gazette said.
Based on the principal of establishing a simple, efficient and integrated administration, those organs and agencies that were not stipulated by the law, specifically required by authorities above the provincial level, or did not relate to the municipal government's major tasks and key projects would be closed, the gazette said.
The organs and agencies closed include the urban environment cleanup committee, anti-SARS and deadly bird flu command center, citizens' center construction office and stock management committee.
The organs and agencies retained include the municipal urban planning committee, port development committee, food safety committee, water pollution cleanup command center, high-tech key projects introduction leadership team and Shenzhen University Town leadership team.
Among them, 30 organs and agencies, including the municipal Nanshan-Pingshan expressway construction project command center, Dachan Bay container terminal construction command center, Shenzhen-Hong Kong Western Corridor project steering team and automobile industry planning and construction steering team, will also be closed when their scheduled tasks are completed.
