The long-awaited Beijing traffic laws are to be voted on in the 15th meeting of the 12th Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress on Friday, China Radio International reported Monday.
The new traffic law has been a hot topic in Beijing for months since its draft was first publicized. The proposal to make motorists take full responsibility for accidents led to more rows between drivers and pedestrians.
The Standing Committee suggested adding regulations to decide fault and accident compensation at the hearing.
The latest vote meeting will run on the afternoon of October 22nd, and any Beijing citizens who wish to attend may do so by reserving a seat in advance.
The public can make telephone reservations by calling 010-65291818, or by visiting the Beijing offices of the National People's Congress Standing Committee.
Those who wish to attend must register with their ID cards 30 minutes before the meeting starts.
