Former Soviet Union voluntary air force came to China and helped Chinese troops against Japanese aggression in 1937. Before the Soviet-German War broke out in June 1941, a total of 2,000 Soviet voluntary air force members came to China, and attained countless heroic military successes during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Soviet voluntary air force and Chinese air force fought side by side, taking part in many air battles in Nanjing, Wuhan, Nanchang, Chongqing, Chengdu, Lanzhou as well as Taiwan. During frequent air combats, many young soldiers in Soviet Union voluntary air force sacrificed their lives for the anti-fascist cause.
