A senior World Health Organization official has claimed that an epidemic is unlikely to break out in tsunami-ravaged countries.
David Nabarro made the assessment in Geneva Tuesday. He said that thanks to the joint efforts of international humanitarian organizations and world governments, an effective epidemic prevention system has been set up in the region.
The WHO had earlier warned that if no prevention measures were taken in time, an epidemic was likely to break out in the region.
