Fearless, which stars Chinese martial arts star Jet Li, probably his last kungfu movie, will debut across Asia on January 25.

 

The movie tells the story of Huo Yuan-jia, a famous Chinese martial arts master in the late 19th century who grew from a fame-seeking warrior to become a chivalrous person in his fighting career.

 

Jet Li, known as China's kungfu king, plays the role of Huo in the movie. Action director Yuen Woo-ping was fight choreographer for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hong Kong box-office hit Kungfu Hustle, and two Matrix films. He has designed numerous fight scenes involving boxers, swordsmen and wrestlers from Thailand, Spain and Australia.

 

Jet Li has shot over 30 movies since his first movie Shaolin Temple in which, he, at the age of 17, played the role of a martial arts monk.

 

Fearless might be his final martial arts movie because kungfu will no longer be part of his life, said Li.

 

The movie directed by famous Hong Kong director Ronny Yu has an investment of US$30 million from China Film Group Corporation and Hong Kong Wide River Investment Inc.

 

The film's debut ceremony will be held in Beijing on January 20.
