Next month, film fans will have a chance to see this lavish feast offered by the post-modernist Hong Kong director, Wong Kar-wai best known for his In the Mood for Love.
Watching Gong Li, Zhang Ziyi, and Dong Jie in the same film, three girls made famous by Zhang Yimou's films, will be a unique experience in itself.
The film will début in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou a few days before it is released nationally in late September.
But perhaps your first postmodern feeling about 2046, could come from the ticket price for the debut.
