The Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang held a symposium Tuesday to voice its support for the newly enacted Anti-Secession Law, which is designed to promote China's peaceful national reunification.
The National People's Congress adopted the law Monday by a vote of 2,896 to zero, setting a framework to prevent Taiwan's secession from China.
He Luli, president of the committee, said the highly popular law is of "significant importance for China's current situation and future in the aspects of using legal weapons to safeguard sovereignty and territorial integrity and demonstrate the common will of the entire Chinese people.
"The law conforms to the common aspiration and strong will of the people and has fully displayed the government's stress on the Taiwan issue and resolve to fight against secessionist activities, " she said.
