Hu Huiqin, a master of Sichuan embroidery, teaches students to embroider the five mascots of the 2008 Olympic Games in Chongqing Municipality bordering Sichuan Province.

 

The Daxigou community in the municipality's Yuzhong District started classes on embroidering Olympic mascots with 56 colours of threads to represent China's 56 ethnic groups. Beijing unveiled the five mascots on November 11 last year, exactly 1,000 days before the event's opening ceremony.
