The Andean Parliament condemned on Saturday the US-led invasion of Iraq and termed it as an action that "seriously affects" the principle of self-determination of nations.
In a resolution issued at the end of its 22nd session in Bogota, the Andean Parliament reaffirmed the will for peace and to end the military actions against Baghdad.
According to the Andean lawmakers, the US invasion of Iraq, which was launched on March 20, "seriously damages the principles of self-determination and non-intervention."
The regional legislative organization is composed of lawmakers from Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela.
Parallel to the Andean Parliament session, the Colombian Congress debated President Alvaro Uribe's support to the US-British military offensive.
