Most Colombians are against President Alvaro Uribe's support for the United States-led war on Iraq, an opinion poll released on Tuesday showed.
The poll, organized by the National Radio Network and conducted with 2,028 people in 25 cities, showed that 57.3 percent of those surveyed disagreed with the government position on the Iraq war, which began last week.
However, 37.9 percent of respondents agreed with the president, and 4.8 percent did not answer or said they did not know.
Last week, Uribe said: "To secure solidarity, we have to be united." He indicated his support for the US-led operation as a response to Washington's support for Colombia's civil war with rebels.
