Vice chairman of the 4th and 5th Council of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; vice chairman of the 10th Central Committee and chairman of the 11th and 12th Central Committee of China Zhi Gong Party, vice president of Supreme People's Court, president of the 6th Council of China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification in 1995-2000.

Vice chairman of the 9th CPPCC National Committee since 1998.
