Iraq Begins Destroying More Al-Samoud Missiles
Iraq began on Tuesday destruction of at least two more Al-Samoud 2 missiles, which are banned under UN resolutions, an Iraqi official told reporters in Baghdad.

"Work started this morning at 9 a.m. (0600 GMT) to destroy two to three more missiles," director general of the Iraqi Information Ministry, Uday al-Tai, announced.

Under supervision of UN weapons inspectors, the destruction of the missiles and a launcher are taking place at the Taji military air base, which is 40 km north of Baghdad, he said.

So far, Iraq has destroyed 16 Al-Samoud 2 missiles since last Saturday in a bid to meet UN Security Council demands.
