By the end of 2003, the telephone network in the region had provided service to 6.387 million fixed phone subscribers and 6.39 subscribers of mobile phone. The number of Internet users reached 1.5 million.
Radio and TV stations:
In 2003, the region had 15 TV stations and 11 radio stations. The TV broadcast network covers 91.5 percent of the region’s population, while the radio broadcast network covers 86.7 percent of the regional population.
