Telephone and Internet:
By the end of 2003, there were some 40.5 million mobile phone subscribers (up 26.1 percent on the year before) and 25.7 million local phone subscribers (up 28.6 percent). 16.9 million subscribers were urban residents (up 32.4 percent). There were 11.1 million Internet users (up 12.3 percent).
Radio and TV stations:
By the end of 2003, the province had 22 radio stations and 24 TV stations plus 78 TV broadcasting stations at county level. Radio and TV coverage were both running at 96 percent of the population.
