For a long time, Zhou Enlai was in charge of China?s diplomatic work. Along with Chen Yi, who became China?s foreign minister in 1958, Zhou was actively involved in developing relations with foreign countries and promoting the friendship between Chinese people and peoples of other countries on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.
