Three US soldiers were killed on Wednesday in combat in restive Anbar province in western Iraq, the US military said.

The military said in a statement that the three "died from enemy action" without giving further details.

The three soldiers came from the 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division, the statement said.

Since the US-led war in Iraq started in March 2003, at least 2,595 soldiers have died in Iraq, according to media count.
