Some fans of the Taiwan pop rock band Mayday lined up for two days to snap up the USUS$203 VIP tickets for the band's Shanghai concert on October 20, Sina.com reported on Monday. Only a few of the 400 VIP tickets remain.

Mayday will stage its JUMP! World Tour 2007 in Shanghai Stadium. VIP tickets went on sale Sunday afternoon, ahead of other tickets. Each VIP ticket cost 1,555 yuan (USUS$203).

Some fans camped out in tents as they queued outside the ticket office on the city's Kangding Road.

It is the first time that domestic fans have waited all night for the most expensive ticket, the report said.

Organizers have prepared special gifts and exclusive activities for VIPs.

Mayday held concerts in Shanghai in 2004 and 2005. This year it will also stage concerts in Xiamen in Fujian province and in Singapore.
