Chinese Vice-Premier Li Lanqing urged reform of logistical services in the country's higher education institutions at a national tele-conference held Tuesday.
Li said university logistics service has been developed effectively by increasing governmental investment while mobilizing other forces.
By following that method, the total area of student dormitories and eateries built and renovated over the last three years exceeded that of those completed from 1949 to 1999.
Li said that in the coming years, increasing the number of students recruited by universities and colleges, which has been practiced for three years, should be kept in line with the development of their services such as accommodation and teaching facilities.
Meanwhile, colleges and universities should continuously improve their administration and help banks in providing students with well-managed education loans, said Li.
