An exhibition featuring unexhibited cultural relics from the Qin and Han dynasties (221 BC to 200 AD) will be opened to general public for viewing at the Hong Kong Museum of History Wednesday.
The exhibition, titled "War and Peace -- Treasures of the Qin and Han Dynasties exhibition" will showcase cultural relics from the era of rule of Emperor Qinshihuang to that of Emperor Hanwudi.
Paul Leung, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) director of leisure and cultural services said Tuesday that the exhibition, which will feature 100 items of invaluable artifacts of the two dynasties, is a gold opportunity for the general public here to have a better grasp of the development and the culture of this important era in Chinese history.
The unexhibited relics include a terra-cotta figure of a general and the terra-cotta figure of an acrobat.
Other more prominent pieces include a jade amulet in the shape of a winged lion, a bronze bell, a jade seal with inscription, pottery male naked figures, painted pottery figures of chickens and a jade knocker decorated with four deities.
The exhibition will end on Mar. 17, 2003.
