China inaugurated a national museum on its movie industry Thursday, a complex in Beijing with 38,000 square meters of floor space, to commemorate the centenary of its birth.
Liu Qi, Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Liu Yunshan, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the inauguration ceremony.
A joint project of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and the Beijing Municipal Government, the museum consists of five zones for exhibition of cinematics, exhibition of movie technology, movie showing, storage and comprehensive service.
There are 21 exhibition halls and five movie theaters in the museum.
An exhibition to mark the centenary of the birth of Chinese movie industry, based on more than 6,000 articles, opened in the museum Thursday.
