Forbidden City to Appear on National Geographic

Under a new contract between America's National Geographic Channel and China International Television Corporation, the TV documentary Royal Palace, or Gu Gong, will enter the international market.

The original 12-episode documentary was produced by China Central Television in 2003 to mark the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Palace Museum.

The newly remixed version is a 2-episode documentary at a total length of 120 minutes, which was re-edited by National Geographic to be of greater interest to overseas viewers.

Vice President of National Geographic Channel's China office says they are confident about the documentary's overseas distribution, which will be accompanied by its being broadcast on the Channel.
