The first online TV channel launched by Chinese overseas students has been opened in Canada.
The TV station, NewStarTV, will act as a voice for Chinese students and overseas Chinese people as well as report news.
The staff are mostly Chinese students. They interview, edit, direct and broadcast their programs with, at present, the minimum of equipment.
The station manager says they will cooperate with some influential media companies in North America and China and send reporters to the Athens Olympic Games.
