Dunhuang Academy's Relics Protection and Utilization Team

In January 2020, the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China recognized the advanced achievements of the Academy's relics protection and utilization team, awarding it the title of "Model of the Times".

For 80 years, generations of the Academy's relics protection and utilization team have passed down their expertise to successors after committing their lives to the single cause. They have thrown down roots in the desert, prioritizing the greater good over personal interests. With a strong sense of mission and selfless dedication, they have meticulously protected and restored the precious relics in the Mogao Caves, deeply studied and promoted Dunhuang culture and art, and explored the sustainable development of cultural tourism. Their remarkable achievements have attracted global attention, radiated a patriotic spirit of serving the country and the people, and demonstrated professional integrity and unwavering commitment to the work. Their painstaking efforts to inherit, disseminate, and develop Chinese culture flavor the Mogao Spirit continuously.

2020年1月，中共中央宣傳部向全社會發布敦煌研究院文物保護利用群體的先進事跡，授予其“時代楷模”稱號。

80年來，敦煌研究院文物保護利用群體幾代人薪火相傳，擇一事終一生，扎根大漠，舍小家顧大家，以強烈的使命擔當、無私的奉獻精神，精心保護和修復莫高窟珍貴文物，潛心研究和弘揚敦煌文化藝術，合理探索推進文化旅游合理開發，取得了令世人矚目的巨大成就。充分彰顯了為國為民奉獻的家國情懷、為事業無怨無悔堅守的敬業品格、為文化傳承發展拼搏奮斗的執著追求，以實際行動詮釋了莫高精神。
