Institute of Dunhuang Studies, Lanzhou University
The Institute of Dunhuang Studies (IDS), Lanzhou University is a key research base for humanities and social sciences jointly established by Lanzhou University and the Dunhuang Academy. It is accredited by the Ministry of Education of China. Its predecessor was Dunhuang Studies Research Group established at Lanzhou University in 1979, making Lanzhou one of the earliest higher education institutions in the country to conduct research on Dunhuang studies. In 1980, the IDS launched the first national professional journal on Dunhuang studies, Journal of Dunhuang Studies. In 1985, it established Lanzhou University Documentation Center for the Institute of Dunhuang and Turfan Studies of China (LUDCIDTSC). In 1998, it was awarded the authority to confer doctoral degrees in historical literature (including Dunhuang studies and ancient script studies), becoming the first doctoral program in Dunhuang studies in China. In 1999, it was selected as one of the first key research bases for humanities and social sciences by the Ministry of Education.
The IDS includes various departments and centers such as Dunhuang Literature Research Office, Dunhuang Cave Art Research Office, Religious Studies Research Office, International Buddhist Art and Culture Research Center, Tibetan Buddhist Art Center, LUDCIDTSC, and the editorial office of Journal of Dunhuang Studies. It specializes in Dunhuang literature, Dunhuang cave art, the history of Dunhuang studies, and the study of Dunhuang and Northwest history. As a higher education research institution, the IDS has established degree-granting programs covering master's, doctoral, and postdoctoral levels, along with research mobility stations, forming a comprehensive talent cultivation system, while continuously strengthening its communication and collaboration with academic circles both domestically and internationally. After more than 40 years of development, it has become an internationally renowned platform for Dunhuang studies, talent development, and academic exchanges.
蘭州大學敦煌學研究所
蘭州大學敦煌學研究所是由蘭州大學和敦煌研究院聯(lián)合建立的中國教育部人文社會科學重點研究基地。其前身是1979年蘭州大學成立的敦煌學研究小組,是中國最早開展敦煌學研究的高校機構(gòu)之一。
1980年創(chuàng)辦了全國首份敦煌學專業(yè)期刊《敦煌學輯刊》。1985年建立中國敦煌吐魯番學會蘭州大學資料中心。1998年獲得歷史文獻學(含敦煌學、古文字學)博士學位授予權(quán),成為中國第一個敦煌學博士點。1999年入選為首批教育部人文社會科學重點研究基地。
該所下設敦煌文獻研究室、敦煌石窟藝術(shù)研究室、宗教學研究室、國際佛教藝術(shù)與文化研究中心、藏傳佛教藝術(shù)中心、中國敦煌吐魯番學會蘭州大學資料中心、《敦煌學輯刊》編輯部等機構(gòu),主要研究方向為敦煌文獻研究、敦煌石窟藝術(shù)研究、敦煌學史研究、敦煌與西北歷史研究。作為高校研究機構(gòu),該所建立起包括碩士、博士和博士后在內(nèi)的學位授權(quán)點及科研流動站,擁有一套完整的人才培養(yǎng)體系,并持續(xù)加強與國內(nèi)外學術(shù)界的交流聯(lián)系。經(jīng)過40多年的建設,蘭州大學敦煌學研究所已成為國際知名的敦煌學研究、人才培養(yǎng)、學術(shù)交流的重要平臺。
