Dunhuang Award
The Dunhuang Award is an honorary award established by the Gansu Provincial People's Government in October 1996 to recognize foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to the economic and social development of Gansu Province.
This award is granted every three years, and several foreign friends who have become dedicated to the protection and promotion of Dunhuang cultural heritage have received the honor. For instance, the recipient in 2016 was Mimi Gates from the United States, chair of the Dunhuang Foundation and former curator of the Seattle Art Museum. The 2019 recipient was Pronkina Olga from Russia, who is a professor at Gansu University of Political Science and Law. The 2022 recipient was Heather Viles from the UK, who is currently a professor at the University of Oxford.
敦煌獎
“敦煌獎”是甘肅省人民政府于1996年10月設(shè)立的外國專家榮譽(yù)獎項(xiàng),旨在表彰在甘肅省經(jīng)濟(jì)社會發(fā)展中做出突出貢獻(xiàn)的外國專家。
該獎項(xiàng)每三年評選一次,有多位致力于敦煌文化遺產(chǎn)保護(hù)與敦煌文化傳播的外國友人獲此殊榮,如2016年獲得者為美國人倪密·蓋茨(Mimi Gates),是美國敦煌基金會理事會主席,西雅圖藝術(shù)博物館前任館長。2019年獲得者俄羅斯人普隆金娜·奧莉婭(Pronkina Olga),現(xiàn)任甘肅政法大學(xué)教授。2022 年獲得者為英國人海瑟·安·威爾斯(Heather Viles),現(xiàn)任牛津大學(xué)教授。
