Mission and Vision

The mission of the Palace Museum is to preserve and promote the authenticity and integrity of fine traditional Chinese culture it carries in a responsible manner, with a vision to build the Palace Museum into a world-class institution, a model for cultural heritage protection globally, a pacesetter in the integration of culture and tourism, and a Chinese cultural parlor for exchange and mutual learning among civilizations.

Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Palace Museum has set guidelines of "putting protection first, strengthening management, exploring cultural value, promoting effective utilization, and bringing relics to life" throughout its operations.

To build a safe, academic, digital, and dynamic museum, the Palace Museum has improved nine management systems: security management, high-tech relics protection, academic research, digital museum services, open services, exhibition organization, inheritance and transformation, talent support, and administrative guarantees. All of these are pointed at ensuring realization of the aforesaid vision.

故宮博物院以真實(shí)完整地保護(hù)并負(fù)責(zé)任地傳承弘揚(yáng)故宮承載的中華優(yōu)秀傳統(tǒng)文化作為自己的使命。以將故宮博物院建成國際一流博物館、世界文化遺產(chǎn)保護(hù)的典范、文化和旅游融合的引領(lǐng)者與文明交流互鑒的中華文化會客廳作為自己的愿景。

故宮博物院以習(xí)近平新時代中國特色社會主義思想為指導(dǎo)，深入落實(shí)“保護(hù)第一、加強(qiáng)管理、挖掘價值、有效利用、讓文物活起來”的文物工作要求，以“平安故宮、學(xué)術(shù)故宮、數(shù)字故宮、活力故宮”建設(shè)為支撐，健全完善故宮博物院管理九大體系，即安防管理體系、文物科技保護(hù)體系、學(xué)術(shù)科研體系、數(shù)字故宮體系、開放服務(wù)體系、展陳體系、傳承轉(zhuǎn)化體系、人才支撐體系和行政保障體系，勇?lián)姑_保四個愿景的實(shí)現(xiàn)。
