United Front Work Department Under the Party Committee

The united front is a union led by the CPC based on the alliance of workers and farmers, which embraces all socialist workers, all those working for the socialist cause, all patriots who support socialism, and all patriots who support the reunification of the motherland and are dedicated to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

According to the Regulations of the CPC on the United Front Work, the Party's Central Committee and local committees all have a united front work department under their authority. This functional department is in charge of the work related to the united front. It also serves as a consulting agency for the Party committee and is responsible for:

? organizing and coordinating related work;

? implementing related decisions;

? supervising related implementation;

? understanding the true social conditions;

? explaining relevant policies to target audiences;

? coordinating different sectors;

? making personnel arrangements; 

? increasing consensus and solidarity.

Central to the work of the united front are:

? members of the eight political parties other than the CPC;

??prominent individuals without party affiliation; 

? non-CPC intellectuals; 

? representatives from ethnic minorities, religious circles, the non-public sector, and new social groups; 

? people who are studying abroad or have returned from overseas studies; 

? Chinese compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao;

? Chinese compatriots from Taiwan and their relatives living on the mainland; 

? overseas Chinese nationals, returned overseas nationals, and relatives of both; 

? other relevant people and groups.

黨委統(tǒng)戰(zhàn)部

統(tǒng)一戰(zhàn)線，是中國共產(chǎn)黨領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的、以工農(nóng)聯(lián)盟為基礎(chǔ)的，包括全體社會主義勞動者、社會主義事業(yè)的建設(shè)者、擁護社會主義的愛國者、擁護祖國統(tǒng)一和致力于中華民族偉大復(fù)興的愛國者的聯(lián)盟。

《中國共產(chǎn)黨統(tǒng)一戰(zhàn)線工作條例》指出，黨中央以及地方黨委設(shè)置統(tǒng)戰(zhàn)部。統(tǒng)戰(zhàn)部是黨委主管統(tǒng)一戰(zhàn)線工作的職能部門，是黨委在統(tǒng)一戰(zhàn)線工作方面的參謀機構(gòu)、組織協(xié)調(diào)機構(gòu)、具體執(zhí)行機構(gòu)、督促檢查機構(gòu)，承擔(dān)了解情況、掌握政策、協(xié)調(diào)關(guān)系、安排人事、增進共識、加強團結(jié)等職責(zé)。

統(tǒng)一戰(zhàn)線的工作對象為黨外人士，工作范圍包括：民主黨派成員，無黨派人士，黨外知識分子，少數(shù)民族人士，宗教界人士，非公有制經(jīng)濟人士，新的社會階層人士，出國和歸國留學(xué)人員，香港同胞、澳門同胞，臺灣同胞及其在大陸的親屬，華僑、歸僑及僑眷以及其他需要聯(lián)系和團結(jié)的人員。
